Mandy Truman Swartz is Pathfinder’s firm administrator, the strategic brains behind the operation, and is married to Bryn. Mandy brings years of workers’ compensation experience to her work with Pathfinder. She was born and raised in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Her career in workers’ compensation began as a teenager with a position at the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission. She later worked at the Supreme Court of Virginia and as a paralegal at a workers’ compensation defense firm in Richmond. This gave way to forming Pathfinder Injury Law with Bryn while the two sat in their hospital room the day their son was born in August 2019.
Given her experience in the various levels of the judicial system and her work as a defense paralegal, Mandy brings invaluable perspective on the inner workings of insurance companies and the judiciary. She has a strong interest in legal research and writing and can often be found at her desk with empty coffee cups, snack containers, Legos, and law books strewn about, notes and flags sticking out everywhere and questionable 80s music playing (to Bryn’s dismay).
Mandy earned her Bachelor of Science summa cum laude in 2021 from the University of Richmond. She then attended the University of Richmond School of Law, from which she graduated in 2024 summa cum laude, in the top five students in her class. She received no less than six CALI awards for scoring the highest grades in various classes; was on Law Review; and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She further served as President of the Animal Law Society, Vice President of First Generation Law Students, and Networking and Alumni Relations Chair for the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity. This, while also raising a small child and helping run a law firm.
In her free time, Mandy enjoys reading, listening to music, hanging out with the family and the hounds, and drinking way too much coffee.
